Course Description
This course introduces students from different backgrounds to the Epidemiology: the study of distribution and determinants of health and disease in humans. No previous background in epidemiology is necessary, but knowledge in medical terminology will be a plus. Students will learn about the basics of epidemiology including data types, study design, data collection, data analysis, data visualization and application of the scientific method in epidemiology. They will then connect those concepts to the goals and problems tackled by epidemiologists every day. By taking this course, students will become familiar with epidemiology as a science, and will become more capable of engaging with the public health literature, and with clinical research overall.
