Course Description

Microbiology is an engaging self-paced online course designed to teach microbiology as it applies to the
healthcare field. All 15 chapters included in this course cover the diverse world of microorganisms from the
smallest prokaryotes to the complex eukaryotic microbes.


The course begins with the historical approach and microbial biochemistry, providing insights into the
foundation of microbiology and the biochemical processes that govern microbial life. As the course progresses,
students will delve into the structure and function of prokaryotic and eukaryotic microorganisms’ form and
function, as well as other essential topics such as microbial nutrition, growth, and genetics, and understanding
